Full Mouth Rehabilitation
The oral health of few individuals sometimes deteriorates to a point where there is loss of several or almost all teeth and collapse of the bite, resulting in the patient not being able to perform normal functions, like eating (even soft diet), speech and even a noticeable change in the facial appearance. Such a condition if prolonged for a long period of time can have a deleterious effect on the general health of the individual, due to poor absorption of nutrients from the food. The commonest side effects we have seen are a drastic reduction in haemoglobin levels (anaemia), lethargy, reduction in immune levels, frequent susceptibility to infections like the common cold etc.
Such patients would require full mouth rehabilitation or reconstruction (FMR)
Full mouth reconstructions combine aesthetics with the science of restorative dentistry to improve the health, function, and beauty of the mouth. The comprehensive scope of the procedure requires a large amount of meticulous planning, highly individualized treatment design tailored exclusively for each patient. In many cases, it is necessary to replace or restore every tooth in the mouth using a combination of dental services
The overall aim of FMR is to optimize the health of the entire oral cavity, to restore all the functions of the oral cavity and to regain the general health of the patient
