Dr Vamsi Lavu, a research scholar, completed his graduation (2003) and masters degree (2006) from Sri Ramachandra University. He took up research and completed his Doctorate in Philosophy (2017) in a Genetic basis of chronic periodontitis.

He is Specialist Consultant Periodontist, with high levels of competencies in surgical and aesthetic procedures of the periodontium (gums). His niche areas include Regenerative, Plastic and Aesthetic Periodontal surgeries. Currently working as an associate professor he trains and guides both graduate and postgraduate dental students for the past 11 years, and regularly attends conferences and workshops, traveling all around the globe to keep him updated in the field of Periodontology. He has numerous international and national scientific presentation and publications to his credit.

He is the principal investigator of several government-funded projects and an invited guest speaker. He has been the member of the Institutional ethics committee of Sri Ramachandra University, and also the vice president of Alumni committee of Faculty of Dental Sciences, Sri Ramachandra Unversity.
